Leadership team could be better at being more consistent with policies as it seems they are still trying to figure out what works best, but often seem to change direction based on isolated incidents and knee-jerk reactions rather than logic.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I worked really hard and took care of dogs and did a 100% job, I was written up wrongfully and they made me quit. I never got my tips also.

I'm paid 11/hour to often work multiple peoples shifts, Im scheduled more days than I requested I be limited to due to my health and am often told to "stick it out" when I voice my concerns. Some days we have 50 dogs in our bigs yard, one of whom jumps the barrier and I get scolded for rotating them

The pay is just above minimum wage but the job can be very physically demanding and requires great attention to detail and time management skills, not to mention the responsibility of keeping a large quantity of dogs safe.

What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is awesome, they roll with the punches, always willing to help out and step up, and learn. They listen to eachother and respect eachothwr. All shift leads get along great and communicate well.

My coworkers are phenomenal. We really feel like a team, bonded by our struggle against management and problem dogs. We work hard together against the clock when we are understaffed, and at the end of the day we can sigh in relief that we made it.

Nobody listens to any concerns.

Coworkers are often appointed as shift leaders with no actual managerial skills, so this often results in favoritism, drama, and bad attitudes.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Not much, honestly. We all love the dogs, but we are often too stressed by management , understaffing, and crowding in our big dog yard to really enjoy our time with the fur babies.

I really felt like it would be a supportive and diverse workplace. I was looking forward to many days hanging out with the dogs in manageable groups and doing the enrichments. Cleaning poop cans was a small price to pay for all those snuggles.

What makes you most happy at work?
The rare moments when I get to hang out with our teacup dogs. I'm more of a big dog person usually, but there's nothing like the calm of the teacups after two hours with forty big dogs.

The owners need to be retrained. They are terrible to the employees and talk down about our clients calling some of them crazy.
