In the past {from being a prior employee}, the ethic was to work and by self reliant. Self reliance and accountablility does not create dependency.

From my past, it was having a fair seniority list, which allowed an employee to essentially, "job hop" w/o much private sector ramification. I liked getting in, small talk {hello, etc}, working, and leaving.

The new generation seems to want things handed to them. This is NOT UPS's frame of mind, or brand. One must work diligently, smart, effective, and not be afraid of commitment. Most have been this way in the past. UPS is probably as close to military as can be.
