Overall, the experience at my company has been positive. I was given opportunity for advancement early on in my career, and my salary has steadily increased over time. While my work life balance is far from ideal, I do enjoy the work I do and the people I work with.
What makes you most happy at work?
Creating high quality products that I know will be used for mission critical work.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Working in a community with others that are passionate about the same thing is very refreshing. We can often have discussions about topics that are relevant to work and our personal interests.
What are some of the best things about your team?
For the most part, my team is very cooperative and eager to do great things. I look forward to working with them every day because I know we can unite to get things done.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
While my management team has made great improvements in my salary, in my opinion my PMR is still on the low side. I also feel that some of my opinions and concerns are brushed off by others in the company because of my tenure and gender.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Both my direct manager and my up-line manager have done a great job and have been very supportive. Once you go above my up-line manager, there is a disconnect in understanding what we do and who we are. Decisions at that level are made without knowing how it will impact the front line workers.
