I feel I was not hired taking into consideration my total experience and skill set.

When I meet timelines and deliver quality work with productivity When client appreciates and is happy about my work.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Functional Manager's role seems to lack domain skill so no connect with team. No team conversations/feedback, all silence and discomfort in the team to share any idea. The team is achieving client expectations and for guidance cannot reach out to functional manager but a temporary SME hired.
