It was fun when I started in 2019, but fulfillment is killing these stores. In store guest experience has gone down hill, order pick up has gone way up, and Target wants the sales, but doesn't want to pay to support it. Freight is left on the floor to help pick orders, and guests leave frustrated.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are amazing considering the low level of support corporate gives them.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Everyone is friendly and mostly positive even with a poor corporate support system.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The people doing the job should have some input on how to implement work flow. Rolling storage kills backroom production, and fulfillment drains all labor resources from the store, so many talks are left undone. There should be more vacation pay, and holidays should be paid even if not working.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I think people using the pickup service are happy, but all the focus is on them. People shopping in the store have commented on how physically shopping in the store is no longer fun, and more of a chore. If you go to Walmart, you recognize shoppers that have given up on Target. Our image is gone.
