What do you like best about the leadership team?
My boss/manager of general merchandise. She does an exceptional job as an ETL, is helpful, respectful, and loves her team, which helps create an enjoyable work experience and environment.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?
They need to stop giving promotions to white people, and look more at the people of color that do just as good of a job if not better. Stop being biased and give them chances.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel undervalued because I know and my co workers know that I should have been the choice for a promotion, but I was looked over for a younger( 7 yrs younger ) white person.

They don't treat their employees with respect. They treat them like robots. They don't want anyone to smile, talk or show any kind of personality. They just want us to shut-up, keep our heads down and do the work.

The rate of pay may be higher, however it still isn't a feasible living wage. If, hypothetically, I got into an accident and couldn't work for a few weeks I would be homeless and jobless.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
People need to be kinder and be more concerned with themselves and improving their own work rather than other people's work. Stop the high school behavior and be more professional. Leave politics at home. Stop trying to get other's in trouble and focus on serving our guests.

We hire anybody off the street and do not give proper training. So essentially we have a bunch of unknowing employees walking around. It's like the blind leading the blind.

We need to actually train our employees and then encourage good behavior and work ethic. As of now, anytime the managers interact with the team members its to micromanage or berate them for not working quick enough or good enough.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?
Recently interviewed for an internship. I don't think it is ideal to use situation-based interview questions. It's robotic and doesn't allow HR/management to really get to know prospective team members. I think situational-based interview questions are beneficial *to an extent*. It seems overdone

Target was great up until about two or three years ago. The new upper leadership is full of vile human beings who don't know the first thing about human relations.

Management is unbelievably disconnected with lower level employees. They do not make any attempts to work WITH us to understand the daily, weekly, or monthly problems and solutions we deal with on the regular.
