My team is a found family, we work through tough times together. we're all very resilient. But it's a bond through trauma. we commiserate with each other, and almost never are given a chance to celebrate.
There was no face to face exchange whatsoever. the first time I spoke to someone about this job was after I was hired, all other interactions were through automated emails, and digital prompts. Bring back real interviews.
Taking and giving feedback. I see most of my coworkers cower around team leads and managers because their feedback equals severe punishment. The work is getting consolidated to moments right before a visit, or inspection of said work.
The feedback system need to be reevaluated. The fear of making a mistake robs individuals of the pride that a healthy work environment requires. They want people to take ownership in store, but do nothing to give people that ownership.
The policies going into place are outdated and don't match with the demographics they are trying to market to, nor the demographics of people they're trying to hire. The Job pool is getting better, and their talent is getting worse.
I think a clear breakdown of what metrics are being measured throughout my year. In salary discussions I've been told I'm a stand out employee, but then I receive a subpar raise and am left confused as to what I could improve.
