Making coffee, talking up the regulars, and seeing friendly coworkers each day
Overall, I'd say Target is a positive, energetic place to work. Miscommunication and strange leadership decisions aside, I would recommend Target employment above most retailers.
Let's just say communication down the chain of command was.. lacking. I'm sure it was sufficient for those working in the department store itself, but our tasks were a store within a store. A cornucopia of miscommunication.
I worked in the Target in-store Starbucks. Technically we were Target employees. When I began work at the location, our barista staff had a tip jar. It wasn't much, but it certainly helped given the numerous duties the barista handles every day. Shortly after employment, corporate pulled the tip jar
Leadership was lacking, to say the least. Again - Target. I worked alongside a gal who had been a barista for six years at multiple Starbucks locations. Was she the manager? Haha, no. Some guy from electronics was transferred over to manage and had zero idea how to run a coffee shop.
