Thomson Reuters Operations Department Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Leadership Reviews

Thoughtful, emotionally intelligent, and mindful of our impact.

Review from Operations Dept

Decision making is very streamlined. Mental health day holiday was one of the best decision ever made , shows how much they care for their employees. Brilliant work culture.

Review from Operations Dept

How the company has responded to recent unprecedented events is highly commendable and makes me even prouder to work at TR.

Review from Operations Dept

Very proactive; family orientated ; during COVID 19 do routine check ins to ensure everyone is doing OK plus provide "happy hours" each week to allow time for interaction with other staff; Gave entire workforce Juneteenth off in respect of BLM movement

Review from Operations Dept

Their ability to listen and make changes in real time. What once was a glacial pace (even for a large international corporation) is now adapting to quickly changing direction based on feedback from their internal customers along with external customers.

Review from Operations Dept

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership Reviews

Give us the resources we need to succeed, all you do is cut cut cut

Review from Operations Dept

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Compensation Reviews

Phenomenal benefits and perks; appreciate that TR leverages its size to benefit its employees; appreciate the active encouragement from leadership and coworkers to use PTO; lean in to mental health days; use work time to volunteer; etc.

Review from Operations Dept

Health card for me and my dependents

Review from Operations Dept

paid time off package includes volunteer time, sick time, vacation time, floating holidays, etc

Review from Operations Dept

While the pay is low and salaried employees can quickly be underpaid compared to hourly employees in the same department, the time off (even as a new employee) is great. The ability to really create a work/life balance is something that has been difficult to find to this extent in other companies.

Review from Operations Dept

PTO is amazing. New full time employees start out with 3 weeks paid vacation, 2 volunteer days, 6 sick days, 2-3 floating holidays (depending on the year), and all major holidays off. Plus, the maternity & paternity leave is amazing. They truly value the work/life balance.

Review from Operations Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Compensation Reviews

Salary adjusted to the position - when moving up the ladder internally, the compensation doesn't seem to be adjusted adequately

Review from Operations Dept

Goals are always a moving target, you never get the raises or bonuses they like to dangle in front of you

Review from Operations Dept

the insurance plan is absurdly expensive

Review from Operations Dept

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team Reviews

Coming from a SaaS startup, I am accustomed to working in a more agile and asynchronous environment.

Review from Operations Dept

Collaboration and the resilience and customer focus that the team has shown during this pandemic.

Review from Operations Dept

cooperative and will assist others as needed

Review from Operations Dept

Working with a group of passionate, like-minded individuals that have a mix of complementing strengths.

Review from Operations Dept

I can say I truly love the people I work with. They are like my 2nd family, and that's the way it should be when you spend 8+ hours a day working with them.

Review from Operations Dept

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Team Reviews

Hire more self-starters so I don't have to constantly micro manage them

Review from Operations Dept

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Environment Reviews

the culture of volunteerism and the culture of continuous learning

Review from Operations Dept

family friend environment and believer in work/life balance

Review from Operations Dept

The ability to enact real change. We are consistently reminded to challenge the status quo (coming from the top down). Regardless of your role, you are always encouraged to bring forth new ideas and enact change.

Review from Operations Dept

We really value positive intent. I love that TR is always about self-improvement as well. Professional Development is a part of my team's yearly goals. We strive to be better, and I love that.

Review from Operations Dept

Teammates actively look to assist each other. Leadership is serious about female representation in senior management roles

quick responses from interview team

Review from Operations Dept

Clear expectations were set about the process.

Review from Operations Dept

I've interviewed several times at TR, changed positions 3 times, and with every interview I have felt comfortable, heard, and I truly feel like they are looking for someone who is a good fit in their team instead of who knows the most. That's how you build a solid team.
